WWE TLC: What Will WWE Do With Bray Wyatt and The Miz?

WWE’s annual Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view takes place tonight and features many title matches and stipulation matches that go with the theme of the event. One of the most intriguing matchups on the card however doesn’t take place in a TLC or Table match, instead it is a singles match between WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt and The Miz.

I’m sure many are thinking why this is a regular non-title match at a PPV, but this actually helps Wyatt’s character development as The Fiend and storyline with both The Miz and Daniel Bryan much more. Wyatt wrestling as himself shows that he is a separate entity from The Fiend, which may result in a much different in-ring style or outcome.

Wyatt has tormented Daniel Bryan and The Miz in recent weeks and took it up a notch this past Friday on Smackdown, when he had a new Firefly Funhouse doll in the crib of The Miz and Maryse’s daughter. This whole segment was well done because it showed that Wyatt is still imposing fear while not performing as The Fiend and it establishes him as the clear heel in the match.

The Miz mentioned on numerous occasions to Daniel Bryan that nobody is the same after wrestling The Fiend. This is important because if Miz defeats Wyatt tonight, he will likely get a rematch and Universal Championship match this time against The Fiend. If that is the direction they go in, maybe tonight sees The Miz go over to set up a rematch next month at the Royal Rumble.

Fans should also keep an eye out for Daniel Bryan, who has not been seen since The Fiend pulled him under the ring to close out SmackDown. The company may decide to go in the direction of Bryan coming out to help Miz from being attacked or could go in a completely different direction and have Bryan help Miz win the match, which could potentially lead to a triple threat match at the Royal Rumble.

Regardless of what happens in the Bray Wyatt vs The Miz match tonight, the Universal title picture looks to have a long-term developing story, which is refreshing considering the what fans have been seeing with past Universal champions.
