WWE continue their lineup of events at the “ThunderDome” inside the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, for Clash of Champions live on the WWE Network. Every WWE championship is on the line tonight and even though many are rematches that fans have seen before, there are some matches that fans should keep an eye on as they may provide a better idea of what the company has planned going forward.

Here are the matches that fans should keep an eye on:

Ambulance Match for the WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs Randy Orton

The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton has been ongoing since SummerSlam and now after weeks of attacking each other from behind, they will settle the score in an Ambulance Match.

Orton has been at the top of his game in 2020 with many incredible promos and the quality of his matchups. Since bringing back his “Legend Killer” persona, Orton has been taking everybody out with his punt while McIntyre has continued to be the fighting champion that retains his WWE Championship at all costs.

Keith Lee has also been inserted in this rivalry over the past few weeks, so it will be interesting to see if he makes an appearance during this match to either help out or attack both as a way to set up a triple threat match for the next PPV and ensure that McIntyre and Orton do not lose any momentum in the process.

WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs Jey Uso

A potential main event between Roman Reigns and  Jey Uso for the WWE Universal Championship had probably been one of the unlikely of matches to close a PPV, but the promos and storyline leading up to it has been quite refreshing to see on WWE programming.

Reigns and Uso’s family history had been included in the buildup for the match and their segment from past week’s episode of SmackDown was great and gets fans behind Uso as he challenges his cousin for the chance to be a world champion in WWE.

During the segment, Reigns mentioned their family depends on him to be the face of WWE and being the tribal chief. Regins then mentioned that Uso does not understand what it is like to deal with the pressures that comes with being the face of the company.

Uso then brought up the struggles of being a tag team competitor and twin saying that when people see Reigns, everybody knows him for his accomplishments of being ‘ The Big Dog”, main eventer, and always the top guy whereas when people see him , the question asked is which Uso he is.

Reigns and Uso did an excellent job in this segment and it was a the fitting end to the final show before a PPV and based on how it ended, fans should not be surprised if the Universal Championship match is the main event instead of the Ambulance Match.

Ladder Match for WWE Intercontinental Championship: Jeff Hardy (c) vs AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn

The triple threat ladder match is definitely the match that could steal the show tonight especially considering the participants. Jeff Hardy will most likely be the favourite based on his experience in ladder matches however, AJ Styles could be the one who ends up walking out of the ThunderDome with the Intercontinental Championship.

Styles and his stats guy Joseph Park, formerly “The Monster” Abyss is TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, have been quite the duo as of late and have been involved in a few comedic segments. Most recently, Styles brought Park with him for his appearance on Talking Smack, where he broke down the odds and numbers, with a bit of a reference to Scott Steiner’s math promo on IMPACT a decade ago, to determine the probability of Styles winning the triple threat.

Styles winning and regaining the championship could be the best outcome as it would allow him to continue his involvement with Park and see where it goes from there creatively: maybe fans start getting behind Park more or maybe it could lead to Styles slowly turning face again, but it at least provides something different for SmackDown.
