SmackDown Opening

Our show begins with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns coming down to the ring, with Jey Uso and Paul Heyman. We learn that tonight there will be a gauntlet match and the winner will face Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. The participants are Shinsuke Nakamura, King Corbin, Rey Mysterio Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan

Reigns said he likes Kevin Owens, and that he respects him and his ambition. He keeps getting up, like a cockroach, and he never wanted anything bad to happen to him. He put him in a tough spot, backed him against the wall, and he had to do what he had to do. and he likes everyone in the back and because of him, the other superstars get food on their table. Reigns say the person to blame for last week is WWE official Adam Pearce, Pearce comes to the ring and Roman tells him to watch a video package of what happened last week.

Reigns ask Pearce what he has to say for himself and to be a man and take responsibility for what happened. Reigns tell Pearce that he threw Kevin back into the shark tank and that Owens now can’t provide for his family. Roman isn’t happy about the gauntlet match, since he can’t pick his opponent.

Pearce says he was trying to put the best challenger in front of Roman mocks Pearce, and he asks for a round of applause for the work he has done. Reigns ask Adam why he doesn’t just put himself in a match. Roman asks Adam if he thinks he’s stupid and a fool.

Reigns say Pearce is stupid, Roman then asks Pearce if he thinks Vince McMahon is stupid. When Adam says he didn’t say that Roman says he most certainly has to be saying that he is stupid, and that’s where the problem lies. If he thinks he’s stupid, then he’s insulting him, he doesn’t respect him, or his family, and when people around here don’t respect his family, and there are consequences.

Roman grabs Adam by his blazer and backs him into the corner, Roman stops himself and fixes his blazer. Roman smiles and says it must be his mistake, Roman says that Pearce is perfectly safe. He slaps Adam on the shoulder and leaves the ring and this ends our first segment.

Adam Pearce will face Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Universal Championship.

The show ends with Roman holding his championship in the air.

This show was good right up to the end, it is disappointing that Roman will face Pearce they could have used Shinsuke since it would have been something new and fresh, but at the end of the day it is the same old WWE. Smackdown was on a roll for the last few weeks right up till tonight.
