Some sad news to report as former WWE superstar Shad Gaspard passed away at just 39 years of age.
Gaspard's body was found earlier this morning on Venice Beach, after he was caught in a rip current while swimming with his 10-year-old son on Sunday afternoon.
Rescue efforts began and Gaspard's son, along with other swimmers, were brought back safely however, the Los Angeles police stated that "a wave had crashed over Mr. Gaspard and he was swept out to sea."
Gaspard was a member of the popular tag-team Cryme Tyme with JTG. During his WWE tenure, Gaspard and JTG were involved in plenty of memorable segments and feuds with some of the company's top tag-teams as well as the main event, when they assisted John Cena in his rivalry with JBL.
Although Gaspard may have been known as a former WWE superstar, he passed away a hero as in the final moments of his life, he chose to protect his family by telling lifeguards to rescue his son first.
Many superstars both past and present shared memories of Gaspard on social media and shed light on the great person and family man that he was:
