The match between WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt and The Miz delivered and told a great story Sunday night, which ended with the return of Daniel Bryan.

During the actual match, The Miz was in control for a majority of it – he got most of the offense in and dominated the Universal Champion however, the offense didn’t really make Wyatt feel pain but instead, it made him smile and feel a sense of enjoyment, which really highlighted the strength of the character.

Wyatt eventually got some offense in before ending the match with a Sister Abigail and pinning The Miz. The Universal Champion wasn’t done there as he would continue his attack on a defenseless Miz after the match and attempted to do further damage with a giant hammer he pulled from under the ring.

The Fiend was shown on the screen as Wyatt was thinking what to do next, but the lights went out and instead of Wyatt appearing with The Fiend mask on, it was Daniel Bryan who appeared and attacked Wyatt.

Bryan returned with a new look similar to the one he had earlier in his career as a way to sell the The Fiend’s attack from three weeks ago, when he pulled Bryan under the ring and forcefully removed his hair.

This was an interesting development in that Bryan came out to help The Miz -- the same man he’s been feuding on and off with for the better part of this decade – from being attacked any further from Wyatt. The post-match works perfectly with the ongoing storyline between the three because it sets up a match between The Fiend and Daniel Bryan for the Royal Rumble PPV next month.
