Aron Stevens was back on Fired Up with the ninth episode of his show Ask Me Anything, which is available on 108 platforms including: iHeartRadio, iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, Tune In, SoundCloud, and of course Barnburner.ca. The show is also available on the OSG Sports Network and the OSG Sports app.

BarnBurner founder Joseph Peisich, Steve Carney of WDAE radio in Tampa, Florida, and myself joined Aron for this edition of Ask Me Anything. In this episode, Aron answered many questions including: who was an unsung hero when it came to taking care of the talent in WWE,  WWE creative, when he found out that he’d be cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, and much more.

If you’d like your questions answered by Aron on next week’s show, follow him on Instagram @thearonfiles and comment on his latest Ask Me Anything post with your question.

Which WWE staff member would you consider an unsung hero when it comes to putting on the shows or taking care of the talents?

Aron: Mike Rotunda and I say that without hesitation. You know I’ve gotten the opportunity to work with a lot of awesome producers and really I can’t think of a producer that I worked with that I don’t have a tremendous amount of respect for. Mike Rotunda though is never one to make himself or his presence known at all times but he is by far in my opinion one of the most valuable people that the company has and in the midst of chaos how when I was there…I don’t know how it is now but that place can be very chaotic and last minute changes and booking decisions that don’t make a lot of sense. Mike was always kind of steadfast and he understood what needed to be done but he understood from the wrestlers point of view…what they were going through and he just handled that in such a professional  classy manner and he really handles himself with the utmost poise and professionalism. On top of that, I’ll tell you what… Mike Rotunda…and people I think if they don’t know really his background…he can really put a hurting on you if he had wanted, he is a badass no doubt about it. I remember one time when we were at a show and I forgot who it was someone was asking about some amateur wrestling move and he had a sport coat on and stuff and just said “oh yeah, well I used to try this one” and he just like went into this move…and you just knew like yea this guy’s got it like that…and I thought that was pretty gangster the way he did it. But you know anytime there was an issue you could go to him. Sometimes when I had some concerns, I went to Mike and Mike got it handled and I do not have enough good things to say about Mike Rotunda…but I really want to take this opportunity to give Mike Rotunda props because he in my opinion is the best of the best and that goes as a producer and a human being.

Who’s idea was it to for you to jump in to the ocean for the briefcase and how cold was that ocean water?

Aron: You know I actually forgot who’s idea it was and I just remember I showed up to Corpus Christi and they told me what I was doing and they were like this needs to be done one shot from the time I was in the ring, going backstage, to the time I jumped in the water, that was done in one continuous camera shot in terms of it wasn’t the same camera but when I went backstage they had a camera on me right in the gorilla position and then they followed me from one point then another camera took over…it was so crazy. Now of course in the world of Hollywood where we do everything in multiple takes, sometimes in way too many takes but that’s another talking point for another show. To do that in one continuous shot was pretty cool. I had a lot of fun. I had a lot of fun doing that and I remember that…the water, I don’t remember the water being cold because I was so in to the moment there however the funny part about that is a week later, I was in my hotel room and I was watching the news and I was like “oh, that looks like the water I jumped into in Corpus Christi” and sure enough it was Corpus Christi and they pulled a shark out of the water right there and when I say like right where I jumped, right where I jumped and I think that’s the last time somebody has gone into the water there. And that was actually you know what, I am going to say this because no one’s ever said it, I was told that was the second highest rated Smackdown of the entire year with the one being the Smackdown before WrestleMania being the number one highest rating so I was always very proud of that.
