Canadian wrestling fans will be able to watch All Elite Wrestling’s new weekly show: Dynamite every Wednesday night from 8-10pm.

As BarnBurner's Joe Peisich reported back in July, AEW had been in discussions with TSN about a Canadian TV deal for their weekly program. The deal was made official late last night and AEW will now be airing on TSN and will not only be going head-to-head with WWE’s NXT in the United States, but they will also be going head-to-head with Sportsnet’s Wednesday Night Hockey lineup featuring NHL games from around the league, which will occasionally include all seven Canadian franchises.

This is a massive move for AEW because TSN haven’t had weekly pro wrestling programming since WWE Monday Night Raw aired on their network over a decade ago. With Sportsnet having the exclusive rights to WWE with their Canadian TV deal, TSN is the perfect network to carry AEW Dynamite as it’s the both the alternative and competition to WWE.

AEW have the luxury of having two of Canada’s top stars in AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega on their roster, so that should provide them with leverage when promoting their product across other TSN shows and TSN live broadcasts such as Toronto Raptors, MLS Soccer, NHL, and the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Earlier this year, Omega was featured in a TSN documentary series that received excellent reviews for showcasing his story and journey in pro wrestling. This is significant because now when AEW airs on TSN, some viewers tuning in for the first time may be familiar with Omega and decide to tune in more frequently.

It’ll be interesting to see which company’s product becomes the more popular choice for Canadians now that the two sports networks will be including live wrestling programming in their TV schedules.
