FOOTBALL

With just a few seconds left in Thursday night’s matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett ripped off Steelers’ quarterback Mason Rudolph’s helmet and struck him in the head. Fortunately, Rudolph was ok, but the hit was deliberate and violent and has shocked the sports world. The NFL hasn’t handed down a verdict on the incident yet, but the punishment will likely be very severe as this hit was so violent it could have permanently ended Rudolph’s career or worse. Garrett was the former #1 pick by the Browns in 2017. Browns 21, Steelers 7

BASKETBALL

According to reports, Carmelo Anthony has signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. Anthony has been out of basketball for a year (and only played 10 games last season with the Houston Rockets).
