The UFC host their first pay-per-view event at the UFC APEX tonight with UFC 250: Nunes vs Spencer. UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Amanda Nunes will look to continue her win streak, currently at 10, when she defends her title against Felica Spencer.

Although Spencer comes into this fight as the underdog, a win is not out of the realm of possibility. After joining the UFC with an undefeated 6-0 MMA record and has since gone 2-1 in the UFC, with her lone loss coming via unanimous decision against former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg.

Spencer performed well in that fight, where she was viewed as the underdog as well. Cyborg, who has similar fighting-style to Nunes, was landing a significant amount of strikes, but was unable to finish the fight due to Spencer’s resilience and toughness. Even though Spencer was defeated, she made a statement that she was no pushover and would be a tough challenge for everybody in the featherweight division.

Since knocking out Cyborg to become a two-division champion in the UFC, Nunes has really hit her stride as a fighter and excelled at all areas of the sport. Not only has Nunes hit her stride during this 10-fight win streak, but she has also cemented her legacy as the greatest women’s MMA fighter of all-time by defeating former champions Miesha Tate, Valentina Shevchenko, Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Holly Holm, and Germaine de Randamie.

Spencer’s best chance at winning this fight is if she can out work Nunes in the clinch; both fighters have a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so it could be a toss-up in that aspect and it will be interesting to see if the fights gets to the ground or if both are clinching against the fence as it could come down to the better grappler winning the fight and walking out the APEX with the UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship.
