This past Sunday, Brock Lesnar lost his WWE Universal Championship to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, which is WWE's biggest event of the year. With the loss, Brock won't be relied on to defend the championship for WWE's next big event, so he's able to sign on to fight UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.

Cormier became the UFC Heavyweight Champion by defeated Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 and after the fight, called Lesnar into the octagon to officially challenge him for his next title defense. Lesnar had other plans and used his octagon access to take the marketing up a notch by shoving Cormier and cutting a WWE-style promo, where he was essentially calling the UFC Heavyweight division a disaster.

Following the confrontation in the octagon, UFC President Dana White stated that they were definitely in favor of setting up a fight between Cormier and Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Even though Lesnar won his last fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200, it was later overturned and ruled a no-contest becausee he had tested positive for banned substances.

Now that Lesnar is cleared to return and Cormier is recovered from his injuries, it makes sense for the promotion to set this fight up as soon as possible. The UFC's annual International Fight Week would've been the perfect time for this fight, but the promotion already set up UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones' title-defense against Thiago Santos for that card, so UFC 241 in August seems like the next best option.

The card currently has no location, so a massive title fight featuring Brock Lesnar could garner plenty of interest from cities that want to host this fight as it would have a positive impact on local businesses during the weekend of the fight.

It'll be interesting to see if Brock Lesnar can capture his second UFC Heavyweight Championship against arguably the greatest Heavyweight to compete in MMA.
