A fury of six goals from both teams made for an exciting Hockey Night in Canada, and it was the Toronto Maple Leafs who came out victorious beating the New York Rangers 5-3 Saturday night.

Mitch Marner had two goals on the night including an empty netter with 20 seconds left in the game, while Morgan Rielly had a goal and an assist in the win. Frederik Andersen made 25 stops and Patrick Marleau and Andreas Johnsson also score for the Leafs, who have now won three straight.

Neal Poink and Kevin Hayes both had a goal and an assist, while goalie Alexander Georgiev made 31 saves in the loss.

Jonsson broke the tie at 1:37 of the third period, when Georgiev initially stopped a tip by John Tavares, but the rebound ended up with Marner, whose shot deflected off of Johnsson at the top of the crease to make it 2-1 Leafs.

Rielly made it 301 at 5:26 when his pass from Johnsson made it past Georgiev for his 12th goal of the year.  He leads all NHL defenseman with 42 points.

Hayes then added a goal for the Rangers, while Marner responded at 12:53 to make it 4-2 Leafs.

Chirs Kreider netted his 16th goal of the season at 16:19 with Hayes and Marc Staal getting the assists.

Marner’s second at 19:40 was enough for the 5-3 win.
