The Toronto Maple Leafs snapped the Blue Jackets five-game winning streak and took care of business on the road with a 4-2 win in Columbus on Friday night.

John Tavares scored two goals for Toronto, while Garret Sparks made 27 saves for the Leafs, who had a five day holiday break before tonight’s game.

The Blue Jackets, who were playing the second of a back-to-back, got goals from Nick Foligno and Artemi Panarin, while goalie Sergei Brobovsky made 25 saves.

The Leafs power play was in full force, when a shot from Nazem Kadri was deflected off of Tavares’ skate and in to take the 1-0 lead.

Foligno was there two minutes later to tie it up when he went five hole on Sparks.

Tavares then netted his 26th of the year with just over a minute left in the first, with a shot from the left circle that went over the glove of Brobovsky and in to make it 2-1 Leafs. Tavares leads the team with 26 goals, and has seven goals and four assists in his last six games.

Midway through the second, it was Mitch Marner’s turn, when he beat Brobovsky on a 4-on-4 racing ahead of Pierre Luc-Dubios, taking a pass from Auston Matthews and in to give the Leafs a two gal lead.

The Leafs weren’t able to capitalize gain until late in the third when Par Lindholm did all the dirty work, shoveling a puck from behind the net to set up Gauthier to make it 4-1 Toronto.

Panarin scored for Columbus with just over a minute left in the game to make it 4-2.  This was his 100th NHL goal.
