Islanders win a physical game 3 5-3

Trail 2-1 in the series

he New York Islanders win game 3 by a final score of 5-3. Cal Clutterbuck was the first to strike for The Islanders to make it 1-0 midway through the first period.

Later in the first period Mikhail Sergachev scored later in the period to tie the game up at 1-1.

The Islanders would score two in the second period with goals coming from Adam Pelech and Anthony Beauvillier to make it 3-1 after the second period 

This one got physical in the third period. Onderj Palat scored early to make it a one goal game early in the third period. Just 10 minutes later, Tyler Johnson scored his 4th of the playoffs to make it a 3-3 game. 

With just 3:25 left in the third period, Brock Nelson put one past Vasilevskiy to make it   4-3. An empty netter from Jean-Gabriel Pageau sealed it for the Islanders to give them a 5-3 win. 

In the last minute of the game 5 10 minute misconducts were handed out. 3 for Tampa Bay and 2 for the New York Islanders.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 31 saves in this one, Semyon Varlamov made 34 saves in this one. 

Game 4 will be played Sunday September 13th at 3pm EST/12pm PST.
