Islanders Fall Short in Game 1 Loss

Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point each had 5 points to lead The Tampa Bay Lightning to an 8-2 win over the New York Islanders in Game 1 of The Eastern Conference Finals.
It was all Tampa Bay in this one. Brayden Point scored just 1:19 into the game assisted by Blake Coleman and Luke Schenn to make it 1-0 early. Nick Leddy tied up the game 1-1 later in the first period with assists from Andres Lee and Matthew Barzal, Victor Hedman scored on the powerplay with assists from Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov, and Ryan McDonagh scored later in the period, assists by Nikita Kucherov and Mikhail Sergachev to make it 3-1 Tampa Bay. The Islanders pulled Thomas Greiss for Semyon Varlamov. Griess gave up 3 goals on just 9 shots.
From there Tampa Bay scored three unanswered goals from Yanni Gourde, assisted by Patrick Maroon and Kevin Shattenkirk, Brayden Point on the powerplay, assisted by Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov, and Nikita Kucherov scored with assists from Brayden Point and Kevin Shattenkirk to make it 6-1 after the second period.
Nick Leddy scored one mid way through the third period with assists from Anders Lee and Jordan Eberle for the Islanders to make it 6-2.
Ondrej Palat potted one in with assist from Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov. Yanni Gourde scores his second goal of the game, with assists from Kevin Shattenkirk and Victor Hedman this one on the powerplay later in the third period to make it 8-2.
No More goals would be scored as Tampa Bay takes Game 1 by a commanding score of 8-2
Tampa Bay took advantage on the powerplay going 3/6. The Islanders went 1/5 on the powerplay.
The New York Islanders outhit the Tampa Bay Lightning 44-34.
The Tampa Bay Lightning outshot the New York Islanders 34-25.
Thomas Greiss made 6 saves in the first period before being pulled while Semyon Varlamov made 20 saves for The Islanders for the remainder of the game. Anderi Vasilevskiy made 23 saves for The Tampa Bay Lightning.
