Where there is pain, there is usually a remedy.

And Rob Gronkowski is no stranger to pain.

Having suffered a multitude of injuries throughout his first career in the NFL, it is no wonder he decided to take an interest and partnership with a company dedicated to pain management upon retiring.

Here enters the remedy.

After leaving the NFL, Gronkowski, or, more commonly known by fans as Gronk, announced in August of 2019 that he was partnering with CBDMedic to help facilitate the creation of a topical pain medication.

This shouldn’t be a shock, considering the three-time Super Bowl champion had nine surgeries over the years, not to mention numerous concussions, sprains and fractures.

The THC-free line allows for an all natural pain relief, a lifestyle Gronk fully supports and believes in.

Having used the products himself, he knows for a fact that they work, and is willing to put his name, and reputation on the line.

“For the first time in over a decade, I’m pain-free. And that’s a BIG deal,” Gronk has said in regards to CBDMedics products.

Since these products do not contain THC, the component in marijuana that makes you high, they have become increasingly more popular, especially with athletes.

Former NFL quarterback, Joe Montana, has also invested in a medical cannabis company.

In an interview with CNBC Gronk revealed why he got into the business, saying, “ ‘Dang, this stuff works.’ [And] I was looking for something like that to help me relieve the pain that I’m in from doing activities and sports.”

In fact, Gronk’s newest employer, the NFL, has loosened restrictions on the use of cannabis within the league.

Players will no longer be suspended for positive marijuana tests, testing is to be reduced to the two weeks prior to training camp, and they are raising the limit of THC from 35 nanogram to 150.

In fact, the decision on punishment for any violation will no longer be in the hands of the commissioner, Roger Goodell, but rather a neutral decision-maker.

The need for change was very evident in a league so dependant on the physical brutality of the players bodies.

Gronk, like many other players in the league, advocate for the pain relief medical cannabis provides.

There are so many athletes that retire early, like Gronk and former Indianapolis Colts quarterback, Andrew Luck, because of the beating the game of football imposes on the body.

Gronk was not able to use the products CBDMedic provides when playing in the league before, but since the reigns are a little looser, he can feel more comfortable knowing that fact.

But even now, entering back into the NFL, Gronk is at risk.

The amount of injuries he’s sustained throughout his football career is daunting, but at least he has a plan for the pain.

As he re-enters the world of football, Gronk is able to hold onto the reassuring fact that he is able to get the pain relief he requires.

Oh, and that he still holds the business partnership as well.
