Toronto May Be Back On A Roll Winning Two In A Row

Who is ready for some basketball?! Well I know Paul Jones is. I saw him on his instagram reading the game report while laying poolside tanning today in Miami. That’s right, the Toronto Raptors are down in Florida escaping this cold cold city. As you read this it is still probably freezing rain! They say spring is around the corner but it won’t be anything like Miami so I guess the next best thing is to describe how it was down there today.

Now I cannot neglect to mention that thanks to Milwaukee’s win against the Charlotte Hornets Saturday night the Toronto Raptors have clinched a playoff spot for the 6th year in a row! For Toronto fans this is great news, one step closer. For the rest of the league (although it seemed inevitable)  this is not so good news for them or their team. This doesn’t mean the Raptors can give up. They still need to finish the season strong in order to keep Kawhi Leonard from leaving this off season.

Let’s get to it!

(Jump Ball)

There were no number two jersey on the floor but there were a number one. Patrick McCaw gets the start alongside Green,Siaka, Lowry & Siakam. Leonard would sit this out and possible the game tomorrow as well? That, we are unsure of right now but my guess is he will to rest up to welcome the LA Lakers Thursday at home. McCaw did a good job putting up 10 pts going 3/4 from the field. Getting this start is a huge boost of confidence for McCaw especially since clinching the playoff spot. McCaw is one of the players with the most playoff experience.

Danny Green hits two back to back three point shots on the fast break.  Green was a key player in this game having a +15 rating and contributing 15 pts. He will be a force to reckon with come the playoffs because very few players can catch up to him and block his shot beyond the arc.

Oh my Mr.Wade goes up with a crafty circus shot hoping to bring his Heat a little bit closer to the lead.  Does he stop?! Should he retire? I don’t think so. I think he still has a whole lot of play in him. Wade also put up 15 pts.

Fun Fact: Wade wears the number three because he is a close follower of Christianity and was chosen because of the holy trinity. Could you say it were ’Bron,Wade & Bosh?

The only time the Miami Heat led in this game were the first minute of play. Safe to say Toronto would take it. With help from all-star and team leader Kyle Lowry. Lowry led the game with another double double, 24 pts and 10 reb with a +31.

Toronto will continue to stay on the road but away from the soft white beaches and head to never never land aka Cleveland aka never never going to land a playoff spot again. Tip off is at 7:00pm. Let’s see if Toronto can continue this win streak and make it three in a row.
