HAMILTON, ON – A stellar performance from Demetrius Denzel-Dyson ultimately became the deciding factor in the Hamilton Honey Badgers overtime victory Wednesday evening. Denzel-Dyson put up 32 points and 6 rebounds and, went 6 for 16 from deep in just under 37 minutes on the court.

After storming ahead early and leading by as much as 13 at times, the Honey Badgers suffered a mini collapse in the 4th quarter and allowed the Bandits to tie the game. However, Fraser Valley couldn’t close in overtime and continued to turn the ball over. Hamilton tallied 37 points off turnovers, while the Bandits hit only 18. That was the difference-maker.

Bandits passing leader Marek Klassen fouled out early in the extra frame and Fraser Valley missed his 10 assists and his ball-moving ability.

Honey Badgers’ Guard Ricky Tarrant Jr. hit 25 points with 6 rebounds and 7 assists. His most impressive stat was hitting 12 of 13 free throws off Bandit fouls.

The Bandits remain the only winless team in the CEBL at 0-4 while the Honey Badgers sweep the home-at-home and improve to 3-2 on the season.
