It seem's by the grace of the basketball god's that these players are feeling better just in time for the Playoff's

The WNBA All-Time leading scorer has been cleared by her medical staff to play. The Phoenix Mercury Powerhouse will be able to (finally) lace up and get onto the court on Sunday August 25th versus the Las Vegas Aces. Taurasi hasn’t played one game this season as her back injury locked her out before the season even started. The Mercury do play before then(the 25th) but she will be sitting that game out because of her involvement in the “Donnybrook” last week against the Dallas Wings. Taurasi was suspended for one game for what she described as “jumping in and helping protect her fellow teammates”.  Phoenix won on Sunday against the New York Liberty 78-72. Right now they are standing at a record of 13-13 and it will be a toss up to see if they make it into the postseason.

Fun Fact: Diana Taurasi was drafted first overall in the 2004 draft to the Phoenix Mercury. She has been with the organization ever since and I have a good feeling she will stay with them until she retires. Taurasi married fellow teammate Penny Taylor in 2017

Elsewhere in the league- another All-Star returns to the court! Las Vegas Ace A’ja Wilson has been out due to an ankle injury for about a month but looks ready to come back just in time for the postseason. At only 23 years old, she has made a huge impact on this team as well as the league. She was drafted #1 overall in the 2018 draft. She was named the 2018 rookie of the year and even a captain at this year’s All-Star weekend (even though she didn’t play). Wilson is averagine 15.9 ppg. My personal opinion? They have the ability to take home the chip this year, especially if Wilson can come back strong.

This week’s top players in the league were Dallas Wing’s (10) Arike Ogunbowale who put up 25.3 ppg and Elena Delle Donne of the Washington Mystic’s (1) with 17.7 ppg.

Don’t forget Last game of the regular season is September 8th and Playoff’s start September 11th! Who do you think will finish the top seed?
