Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a name that not only every Canadian will know but soon everyone throughout the entire league!

Wow! What an amazing past week this has been. With Toronto losing their very first christmas day match against Boston, winning Saturday night in Boston, and then losing another Sunday in Toronto. The Oklahoma City Thunder strolled into town coming off a win against the Hornets. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the Thunder in points (19.4 ppg) and coming back to his hometown meant you knew he would perform.

Speaking of “SGA” (I think we need to come up with a nickname for him because it is just so long) he put up a career and game high 32 pts.

Fun Fact: SGA has a cousin in the NBA and his name is Nickeil Alexander-Walker. “NAW” plays for the New Orleans Pelicans and is having an excellent breakout season.

With Pascal Siakam still out, it gives the rest of the team to step up and contribute more points and that’s exactly what Point Guard Power duo did today. Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry teamed up for a combined 40 pts (tied for a team high).

Back to SGA who scored the game winning point. He actually set a new record. There has never been a Canadian who has scored more against the Raptors and also never been a Candian who has scored more on Canadian soil.

Toronto will have a days rest and then get ready to play an early game on New Year’s Eve. The game will be at the Scotiabank Centre with tip off at 7:00pm against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Oklahoma City 98-97 Toronto
