Michael Chavez produced 3 RBI with a three-run homer to lead the Boston Red Sox 8-7 over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Red Sox (46-41) relied on a group effort offensively, as six different members produced runs for the away team.

Hector Velazquez exited the game with a no decision after pitching 2.1 innings for Boston and allowed three earned runs.

Freddy Galvis went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI for the Blue Jays (33-55) offensively but it proved to be insufficient as the opposition prevailed in the end.

Thomas Pannone (3-3) struck out four across four innings and did not allow an earned run.

Toronto took a 6-1 lead before Boston answered to take a 7-6 lead by the sixth inning with a three-run Chavis home run.

The Blue Jays tied it up with an Eric Sogard double in the seventh, however, Marco Hernandez launches a solo home run to put Boston ahead 8-7, which is where the score would stand.

Toronto will be back in action on Friday versus the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre. First pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. EST.
