Jays @ Indians

The Cleveland Indians defeated the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Tyler Naquin went 3-for-3 and posted one RBI to lead the Indians (6-3) offensively.

Mike Clevinger (1-0) recorded 10 strikeouts over five innings of work to win his first game of the season. He carried a no-hitter into the fourth inning, until Freddy Galvis ended the bid with a sharp line drive double.

Danny Jansen recorded one of three Blue Jay (3-8) hits and recorded their only RBI in the eighth inning.

Marcus Stroman (0-2) gave up three earned runs on six hits, while posting six strikeouts in six innings of play—a quality start. The 27-year-old has pitched 20 innings across three starts and the Blue Jays have failed to score even a single run for him.

As far as pitching is concerned, the Blue Jays staff has combined for a franchise record 119 strikeouts across the opening eleven games of the season.

The Blue Jays went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

Cleveland scored twice in the first inning and produced their third run in the fifth to down the Blue Jays.

Toronto has a day off on Monday and will resume play on Tuesday in Boston for a two-game series.
