The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead the Yankees offensively in his third game back since returning from a long-term injury.

Canadian pitcher, James Paxton, posted six shutout innings with seven strikeouts. The 30-year-old lowered his ERA to 3.73 with the superb outing.

Teoscar Hernandez posted one RBI and went 1-for-4 at the plate in an uninspiring game for the visiting Jays.

T.J. Zeuch fared well in his second big league start, allowing four hits and two earned runs. His six strikeouts were second most among all pitchers in the game.

Toronto will look for redemption in the series finale at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. The Jays have an opportunity to win the series despite their woes in today’s matchup.
