A divided locker room in Houston?
Just days before the non-waiver trade deadline, the Houston Astros traded for Blue Jays’ Roberto Osuna, a young and promising closer. Unfortunately, this addition in the clubhouse doesn’t seem appreciated by all of his new teammates. The problem is that Osuna was suspended 75 games for domestic violence. Some players were very uneasy about his arrival in Houston. Pitching ace, Justin Verlander was one of the most vocal player in the MLB against domestic violence or any physical violence in pro sports. Owner Jim Crane and general manager Jeff Luhnow held a team meeting to discuss Osuna’s acquisition. It is important to note here, that Osuna’s case hasn’t been settle in court, yet.
The Boston Red Sox are on fire and a series against all-time rivals, the New York Yankees wasn’t going to change that. Starting pitcher, Rick Porcello threw an absolute gem of a game, going 9 innings and giving up asingle hit, a home run by Miguel Andujar, in the third inning. Porcello matched his season high for strikeouts and threw his first complete game in just over a year.
The New York Mets season has been disastrous, just to say the least. A clinic of New York city, UMA Heakth Center is offering free therapy for Mets’ fans. Things got off to a good start, but after going 17-9 in April, “you know what” hit the fan and things got downhill pretty fast. I hope the clinic stays open late, because they are a lot of Mets’ fans that require surgery… or a Yankees jersey.
