MLB Quick Delivery

Cleveland being… Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians have been part of the Elite in the MLB in the past 5 seasons. Thanks to Terry Francona’s arrival, the Cavaliers weren’t the only contenders in Believeland. Unfortunately for the Indians, they looked like the Browns on Tuesday night, when Tito addressed the media after a lost, where his club gave up 7 runs in the 9th. Francona told the media that when Joey Votto was next in line to bat, with the bases loaded, miscommunication lead the wrong pitcher to go on the mound to face him. Apparently, the Indians’ skipper asked for Oliver Perez on the mound, but Cleveland’s pitching coach sent Dan Otero. So instead of having OP on the mound, the Indians sent OT and were badly penalized for this communication mistake.

A Splash in Milwaukee?!

Apparently, the Milwaukee Brewers are set to make a splash at the upcoming trade deadline. Jon Morosi of MLB network claims that Minnesota Twins infielders, Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar have been targeted by Milwaukee’s front office. Both players are set to become free agents in the winter and could boost the Brewers on both defense and offense.

The middle of the infield has been struggling mightily this season to produce anything on offense. On defense, they have been inconsistent all year long and adding both Dozier and Escobar would be huge for a playoff push, but at what cost?!

The Manny Machado watch

The New York Yankees have taken the pole position in the Manny Machado sweepstakes. According to Jon Heyman from Fancred, the Yankees have made a solid offer for the Baltimore shortstop. Although a deal seems to be close to being a done deal, New York doesn’t intend to add prospect starting pitcher, Justus Sheffield, who seems to be targeted by the Orioles as the missing piece for a trade to happen.

Even if Machado wants to play the shortstop position, if he gets moved to the Yankees, he will likely see third base action.
