Can you smell it? Take a moment… That’s the smell of victory! The Toronto Raptors won yet another game last night in Detroit.  The Raps have won 59 times this season and have one more game left. Can they make another franchise record and make it 60?

Raps haven’t swept a season series in Detroit since the 2013-2014 season and have only swept Detroit one other time in a four game season series back in 2009-2010 season. The Toronto Raptors have now won 3 in a row looking to finish the season strong.

No Blake Griffin and no Deandre Drummond for Detroit tonight due to injury.

Jonas Valaciunas hits a swish from beyond the arc in the 1st quarter, adding to his 25pts & 9reb. As well as the Raps were playing-they couldn’t get away from Detroit. Being within 4pts in the 1st quarter. Henry Ellenson ties it up at 32 before the break.

Stepping into the 2nd Ish Smith brings it up himself and goes baseline to baseline giving the Pistons their first lead of the game. Ish was 6/6 from the field finishing with 15pts. It was interesting to see Lorenzo Brown come on the court because he played in game #1 of the G-League final Sunday night and then will head to Mississauga and play in game #2 Tuesday night vs the Austin Spurs. Brown put up 11pts, 5reb & 1stl . It wasn’t only Brown who travelled to the Motor City from the 905 but also Malcolm Miller & Alfonzo McKinnie got the call right after their game in Texas.

Toronto went on a 13-0 run in the last couple minutes of the 2nd quarter with Kyle Lowry putting up a nifty lay-up. Lowry has made 234 shots from beyond the arc, beating a franchise record and is third in the NBA.

Toronto down 3pts, 60-57 at the half.

You could hear the fans cheering “Go Raptors Go”. I’d say most of the people in Little Caesars Arena were Raptor fans.  That must have got the Pistons going because they didn’t let up, although they weren’t going to the post season they pushed until the very end. Eric Moreland was tough in the paint and put up 11pts & 7reb for Detroit.

The 4th quarter welcomes Poeltl, Powell, Miles, Brown and Wright to put this one away for Toronto. The passing and shooting were on point and they looked comfortable with one another. Just what you want to see as a fan heading into the post season. After going on a 20-8 run Alfonzo McKinnie checks in and had a pretty little put back to extend the Raps lead 16pts with 5:48 left to play. After that exact bucket, Toronto was held to a halt as their next bucket didn’t come until 2:21 to play but Toronto came out on top with that well deserved W.

Toronto is heading to South Beach! (I wish I were heading to South Beach). They play their last game of the regular season against Wade County aka the Miami Heat. It wont be an easy game as behind Boston are six teams that are fighting for a spot.
