AHL Quick Fire

AHL/CCM Player of the Week

Grand Rapids Griffins’ goaltender Jared Comeau has been named the AHL/CCM player of the week. The goaltender was perfect in 2 games last week stopping all 66 shots against him. His feat came against the league’s best offence, the Manitoba Moose.

Coreau was also called-up this week after the Detroit Red Wings traded G Petr Mrazek to the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Perth, Ontario native was tied for third in wins in the AHL before his call up.

We have multiple trades to announce!

San Diego Gulls’ F Eric Fehr was traded to the San Jose Sharks from the Toronto Maple Leafs, who will receive a 7th round pick in next year’s NHL entry draft.

The New York Rangers have acquired from the Boston bruins, defenceman Rob O’Gara and a 3rd round pick for D Nick Holden. Holden will report to the Bruins and O’Gara is likely to join the Hartford Wolfpack for the rest of the season.

Suspensions… again!

Syracuse Crunch forward, Alex Gallant will be suspended for 2 games, after collecting his 4th game-misconduct of the season, against the Charlotte Checkers.

Forward Colin Bl;ackwell from the Rochester Americans will miss his team’s next 2 games after being suspended by the league for ‘’supplementary discipline’’ because of his against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
