AHL Quick Fire

AHL/CCM Player of the Week

Milwaukee Admirals’ F Trevor Smith has been named the CCM/AHL player of the week. Smith collected a league’s best 7 points in 4 games last week, scoring 2 goals and assisting on 5 others.

He was instrumental in his team’s 4 wins, including a shootout win against the best team in the Western Conference, the Manitoba Moose.

We have multiple trades to announce!

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have traded F Colin Smith to the Stockton Heat in exchange for F Joseph Cramarossa.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have added D Andre Benoit to their roster via the Columbus Blue Jackets who re-assigned the 34 year-old to the New York Islanders’ farm team.

The Montreal Canadiens have signed G Charlie Lindgren to a 3 years NHL contract starting next season. Lindgren will finish the season and Laval and will de facto become Carey Price’s backup next season.

Heavy Suspensions

Two players have been suspended for 20 games, because they violated the AHL’s terms for PED program.

Springfield Thunderbirds’ F Tony Turgeon and Bakersfield Condors’ F Mitch Callahan are the two players that have been disciplined.
